Thiruvananthapuram: Soldiers who returned after completing a ten-day long rescue mission in the disaster area of Wayanad were honored in the capital.
The soldiers who participated in the Wayanad rescue mission arrived at the closing ceremony of the Lulu Freedom Fiesta organized by Lulu Mall and Pangod Military Center as part of the Independence Day celebrations.
Col. Rohit Jathein, who participated in the Wayanad mission from Pangod Military Base,Lieutenant Colonel Rishi Rajalakshmi, Captain Saurabh Singh, Major Vipin Mathew, Subedar K Padmakumar, Naik Shafiq SM, Havildar Mayandi A, Lance Naik Purushotham K, Naik Driver and Operator Viju V were felicitated under the leadership of Station Commander Brigadier Salil MP.Rescue operation in disaster affected areas such as Mundakai and Churalmala region.
